Maria M. Luis
1918 - 2020

Maria M. Luis, affectionately known as "Tia Maria," earned her endearing title due to her nurturing presence among her large family of eight siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. In the Portuguese language, where "Tia" means "Aunt," Maria embraced her role as a loving and supportive figure to her extended family. Our Mission
The Tia Maria Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that no student ever has to choose between pursuing higher education and their financial circumstances.
We strive to empower the next generation by providing the resources, guidance, and opportunities students need to succeed both in the classroom and beyond. Through scholarships, mentorship programs, and community partnerships, we support students as they navigate the transition from high school to college, careers, and the real world.
We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to pursue their dreams regardless of their financial background. By investing in education, mentorship, and personal development, we are helping build a future where young people are equipped not only to achieve success, but to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
